Price Check - Tom Ford Limited Edition Pavlos Aviators

For a second there, I thought my vision had gone bad. In my inbox, there it was - a picture of these fabulous Tom Ford aviators - on sale!

The price said $140! Immediately I was drawn in and entered Net-a-Porter's sister site...only to stare in disbelief as my eyes adjusted to the additional digit. Could this be a typo?

On Sale $1,440!!! Regularly priced at $2,400!!

My virgin eyes had never seen sunglasses priced so liberally before. Insane. For these Tom Ford LIMITED EDITION aviators no less.

I know TF sunnies have skyrocketed to cult status, as seen on almost every celebrity and fashion-concious hipster on the streets. They are no doubt beautifully handcrafted in the highest of quality materials and can command $300+ price tag....but have somebody lost their minds?

It doesn't look too good when something that is limited in quantities is on sale. Or am I just too cheap?
